Letters of Support

St. Francis Neighborhood Center (SFNC) is committed to supporting community initiatives that align with our mission to provide educational enrichment, resources, and support to individuals and families in our community. This policy outlines the criteria and process for requesting a letter of support from SFNC.

Eligibility Criteria

SFNC will consider issuing letters of support for:

  • Grant applications, funding proposals, or partnership requests that align with our mission and values.
  • Community-based projects or initiatives that benefit residents within our service area.
  • Nonprofit organizations, educational institutions, or government agencies with aligned goals.
  • Advocacy efforts that promote equity, education, social justice, and community empowerment.

SFNC will not provide letters of support for:

  • Political endorsements or lobbying efforts.
  • For-profit business ventures without a clear community benefit.
  • Individuals or organizations that do not align with our mission and values.

Request Process

To request a letter of support, the requesting organization must:

  1. Submit a Formal Request – Send a written request at least 14 days before the deadline via email to info@stfranciscenter.org
  2. Include Key Details – The request should include:
    • Organization name and contact information.
    • A brief description of the project, initiative, or funding request.
    • The specific purpose of the letter and how it supports SFNC’s mission.
    • A draft or suggested language for consideration (optional).
    • The deadline for submission and details on where the letter should be sent.
  3. Review Process – Requests will be reviewed by SFNC leadership to ensure alignment with our mission and available capacity to support the request. High profile support letters shall be voted on either the Executive Board or Full SFNC Board of Directors.
  4. Approval and Issuance – If approved, a signed letter of support will be provided on the SFNC letterhead. SFNC reserves the right to decline requests that do not meet the eligibility criteria.
